Global Compact in Poland
Global Compact Initiative was presented by Kofi Annan a General Secretary of UN during his speech at International Economical Forum in Davos on the 31st of January 1999. Then he appealed to business representatives all over the world to support, accept and apply everytime they act ten fundamental rules of human rights, standards of work and natural environment.
A strenght of GC are joint actions suppporting an idea of business social responsibility thanks to which business may become important part of global problems solution.
To realise its objectives GC offers support and engagement by: Social Dialog, Knowledge Centre, Network and Projects. GC bases its activity on social responsibility, transparency and presenting companies' interests on the area of social responsibility in order to initiate operations pursuing realisation GC rules and initiatives participation.
UNDP employees publish current information and projects descriptions (3W News) on GC web site. They also maintain discussion forum (3W Forum) as well as publication of documents related to GC programme.
